Ibarra's work is centered around the aesthetics and resilience of the Mexican/Latin American, migrant laborers, namely the Piñata District of Downtown Los Angeles, engaging in the means of sustaining as a community of businesses and as a place of cultural familiarities and commodities. The work produced intends to invite the public for conversations on labor, craft, migration, (dis)placement, and futurities of community. The material use of bolsas de mercado offer iconographic dialogues between what the objects are, how they are transformed, and their new pictorial descriptions
